Faculty Library Guide: Adding Materials to the Collection

This guide provides an overview of Library services and resources for faculty.

Ordering Resources for the Library Collection

Each department has a small library allocation, and faculty are expected to select books that will help build a strong Library collection and help support student needs in the courses we teach. And we need your help making sure our collection is regularly updated to include the most relevant scholarship as well as cleared of what is outdated and/or no longer appropriate!

To Whom?  Orders may be submitted to Michelle Thole.

How?  Email to michelle.thole@greenville.edu

How much?  This will depend on how many requests we get in a year. We try to distribute funds somewhat equally. But we also have special restricted donor funds that we can use for the following departments: English, Business, and Religion.

When?  One-half of the requests are due before Thanksgiving, and the remainder by February 15.

Info Needed? The more information you can give, the better: title, author, date published, publisher, etc.  ISBN information is most helpful since it is edition specific. Please indicate if the material is needed for a particular semester, what class it supports, and whether print or ebook is preferred.

Note:  Please do not purchase resources and ask the Library to reimburse you. We cannot do that. We use multiple book suppliers to obtain the best prices, and we look at a variety of format options in making selections that add academic value to the Library collection.
