How To Renew

Steps to renew a book or other resource borrowed from GU or through Interlibrary Loan.

How To Renew

To Renew a Book

  • Go to the Greenville University Library Catalog and click "Sign In" near the top right side of the screen.
  • Enter your GU (D2L) username and password, and then click "Sign In."
  • Click on the arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the screen. You'll see an option that says "My Loans." Click on "My Loans."
  • Select the name of the Library that loaned you the book or other resource. (It will have a check mark.)
  • Next to the title of the item you would like to renew, click "Renew."
  • Once the screen refreshes, you should see both a message about the renewal and the new due date (if one is given).
  • If the message "Renewal Request Failed" appears in the "Renew" column, it may mean that you have reached the renewal limit or the item has been recalled by the lending library. If this is the case, you will need to return the item to the GU Circulation Desk by the due date to avoid having your library account blocked. Feel free to contact the GU Library Circulation Desk if you have questions.

Note: You should renew items by the date they are due. Once they are overdue, you will need to contact the loaning library directly. If you do not return overdue items, your library account may be blocked!
